How To Get Your First 100 Sales On Etsy (Realistic Tips)
In this blog post, I’ll be sharing with you how to get your first 100 sales on Etsy. No gatekeeping here. But first let me start off with my Etsy story.
My first month on Etsy, I made zero dollars.
ZERO.
I hope that gives you some sort of encouragement. It took me two months to go from 0 to 100 sales.
Trust me, there were plenty of days where I’d get zero sales. And then other days, where I was getting 5-6 sales.
It wasn’t a linear growth, like what I’ve seen so many other Etsy sellers share on Youtube.
Everybody’s journey is different, so I try to remind myself not to compare.
Mine was up and down, lol. My main goal writing this post is to show you that it is POSSIBLE.
I hope to encourage you on your Etsy journey and share with you my best tips that I think helped me increase my sales.
So keep on reading!!

Why is it so hard to get sales on Etsy?
Etsy shoppers pay attention to your credibility on its platform such as reviews and the number of sales.
Credibility on Etsy will attract more customers to your shop because a shopper is essentially giving you their trust by purchasing your products.
So to sum it up, credibility = trust among your potential customers.
Your first few sales will always be your hardest, but it doesn’t have to be that way.
How To Get Your First 100 Sales On Etsy
So let’s jump right into the GOOD stuff – here is exactly how I made my first 100 sales on Etsy.
#1: I created a digital product everyday.
I’m not even kidding when I say I made a product everyday for a month straight.
Fast forward to 6 months later, I can count on one hand where I’ve gone a week without making a product.
I would make a digital product, even on the weekends. I made a commitment to myself before I opened up my shop that I would make a product everyday for 30 days.
I built a routine and system that helped me to pump out digital products pretty quickly.
Even if it was a super simple digital product, I made sure to keep creating.
I’m pretty sure this was a HUGE factor that helped me get sales because Etsy was able to identify what products I was selling more quickly, since I was constantly using similar tags and titles.
#2: I asked my family and friends to support my shop.
This is a no-brainer, but I honestly don’t know why I didn’t ask for help from the very beginning. I remember constantly checking my Etsy store after having 10 products up and all I heard were crickets.
But then, it suddenly hit me. Couldn’t I just ask 4-5 of my close friends to support my shop?
Honestly, I was kind of nervous to ask and a bit ashamed even to ask for help. But what I realized was that everybody starts somewhere, especially when it comes to a business.
The people who want to support you the most are usually those in your personal life – like your friends and family.
From there, my friends and family started buying and reviewing my products, and my sales went up pretty quickly after that. Buyers were able to see I had more credibility to my shop.
#3: I focused on a specific niche.
I was pretty stumped on this one before I started my Etsy shop. The perfectionist within me wanted to find the “perfect” niche on Etsy.
So I was overwhelmed with the possibilities of many different digital niches to choose from. I realized that this is one of the many reasons why new Etsy sellers get stuck on starting their Etsy shop.
That’s when I decided to create the Etsy Success Blueprint.

#4: I focused on learning more about Etsy SEO and market research.
Right from the start, I decided to educate myself about Etsy’s SEO and market research.
SEO stands for search engine optimization. Learn more about how to boost your Etsy SEO here.
Specifically for Etsy, it’s important to look at what people are searching for.
So before I started my shop, I brainstormed many digital products in that specific niche that I could create.
But I had to make sure that these were products that potential customers were actually looking for.
Market research is the FOUNDATION for success on Etsy.
I’ve found that taking the time to do a bit of researching and finding what products to sell, really helped me grow m shop and hit 100 sales on Etsy.
#5: I kept going and stayed consistent.
This is also a given, but I’ve seen so many Etsy shops become dormant and inactive over time.
I think this is the first time that I’ve been so consistent on a selling platform, lol.
The key to success and you’ll literally hear so many people say, but I’m going to shout it to people in the back. CONSISTENCY IS KEY.
Obviously all of us would love to see growth super quick. When I made zero income my first month, I was slightly discouraged, but I had to remind myself to just keep going.
And now I can say that it has paid off BIG TIME.
If I had stopped after the first month because I didn’t see any growth, man, I wouldn’t have been able to turn this into a side hustle or even start a Youtube channel because of it.
So please, please, do not give up on your Etsy shop. You will eventually see it come to fruition! I’m cheering you on 🙂
