Why am I not getting any sales on Etsy?
There can be a lot of reasons that contribute to a lack of sales for your Etsy shop. It could be the type of products you sell. Are they evergreen or more seasonal?
Are you posting consistently enough? Do you have enough credibility for your store such as reviews? Do your product photos look appealing and sale-worthy?
There are so many factors to consider when it comes to marketing and whether or not a buyer will purchase a product from your store.
In this post, I will share with you 5 things you need to be doing in order to start growing on Etsy.
When do Etsy sales pick up?
It really varies when Etsy sales start to pick up. I wish I could give you an exact answer. I’ve seen stores that only had their shops opened for a month and made a ton of sales.
I didn’t make any sales my first month on Etsy and only started to see sales my second month on Etsy. It will vary, but I do believe people can see sales start to pick up if they follow tip #1.
And let me just say that every week on my shop varies in terms of how much I make. So you really can’t predict the numbers on Etsy.
5 Easy Ways To Increase Your Etsy Sales
Tip 1: Don’t stop publishing a listing!
Etsy LOVES new listings, new stores, and new products. This means that fresh, new content is constantly promoted on its platform. This also means that Etsy wants YOU to create as many listings as consistently as possible.
Even Etsy, itself, has published this article mentioning how adding more listings will boost your sales.
If you have a digital Etsy shop, try to keep creating (done is better than perfect).
When I first started my Etsy shop, I created a listing everyday for months straight. I think 5-6 months into my Etsy shop, I started to create less. I noticed that there was a dip in my Etsy sales afterwards.
Of course, not everyday, we will have time to create an Etsy listing, especially if you’re away from your laptop or have other priorities. If that’s the case, I would suggest creating a product once or twice a week.
Also, the important thing about posting as much as you can is to see what your audience wants and are searching for. It really only takes one listing to take off in order for your Etsy sales to grow. Don’t quit too early in the game because you never what could happen 🙂

Tip 2: Run an Etsy sale (the smart way)
Running an Etsy sale has helped me increase my sales SO much.
Think about it from the buyer’s perspective, if they compared two items that were very similar, but one of them was 30% off… which item are they more likely to buy? Exactly.
Buyers love it when Etsy shops run sales because they want to save money while buying things.
But it’s also important to run an Etsy the SMART way. What do I mean by this?
If you’ve been running sales for a while on your shop, your buyers are going to expect those sales to continue. And let’s say, one day you decide to end a sale early. Chances are buyers are going to wait until you have a sale again, soo it’s possible you might get less sales in your store.
That’s why you want to make sure you use sales sparingly or that you’re actually profiting from your discounts.
Want to learn how to use Etsy sales and discounts effectively? I teach you exactly how to do so in this post.
Tip 3: Pay attention to your product photos
Etsy’s user interface is about 90% visual, meaning that the first thing people see when they go on its website are photos of the products you’re selling.
If your products’ photos and descriptions are all over the place, then Etsy buyers are more likely to skim over what you’re selling (no matter how awesome they are).
That’s just the reality of marketing and learning what makes a buyer visit your shop and actually buy your product. The first hook is how your product photos look like.
These Etsy shoppers don’t have access to your products – they can’t touch, smell, or taste the goodness of your products, haha.
The only thing they can do is SEE what you’re selling and decide whether it’s worth it to buy or not. That is why your product photos matter so much.
They can either make or break your Etsy sales!
Tip 4: Offer free shipping
If you are selling physical products on your Etsy store, choosing free shipping will definitely increase your Etsy sales.
Again, if we compare two items, yet one of them offers free shipping, which item do you think the buyer will choose? Obviously, the one with free shipping!
Yes, it’s definitely competitive because you need to make sure that you are making profit while offering free shipping.
That’s why it’s important to calculate the expense of labor, materials, and shipping on your end to see what the overall profit margin is for your products.
Tip 5: Ask your friends/family to review your products
The fifth way to increase your Etsy sales is to ask your friends and family to write a review if they’ve bought your products.
I share in this post how I made 100 sales on Etsy and one of the things that helped me a lot was this tip! I reached out to my friends and family to help me out. Why?
Because Etsy shows how many reviews a shop has next to their star-rating. And those two things are HUGE when it comes to a shop’s credibility.
Buyers naturally trust shops who have more reviews and higher ratings, which will encourage them to buy from that particular shop.
Trust me, this is a tip that I found super useful and helped me increase my Etsy sales tremendously.
